Add multiple layers of geometry

Sep 24, 2013 at 2:24 PM
I think it is possible, but I just want to confirm what I think.

Is it possible to add different layer of geometry on the map?

Layer1: A set of green arrows.
Layer2: A set of red arrows.
Layer3: A set of yellow circle.

And allow to show only Layer1 or Layer2 or Layer3?

Thank you.

Sure, just add different MapPanels, MapItemsControls or whatever to a map and set their Visibility or Opacity as needed.

Hi ClemensF,
Thank you for the fast answer, this is exactly what I need.

You make my day. :)

Hi CleamensF,
or to anybody who can answer my question. I have one detail I need to clarify.

Am I correct if I say that:
MapPanel-1 = Rendering the tiles
MapPanel-2 = Contains a set of lines
MapPanel-3 = Contains a set of circles

All these panel are superposed, and I can set the visibility of each MapPanel.

Not exactly. Tile Rendering is done by the Map control itself. The MapPanels (or perhaps MapItemsControls) are children of the Map. But of course that results in a superposition of multiple layers, as usual with UI parent and child elements.

All that is very obvious from the sample applications. Just see how it's done there.
