Map Control Performance Problems

Jul 29, 2014 at 11:51 AM
My WPF Application contains a XAML Map Control in a window shared with a VIsiblox Chart (the controls are contained in a grid with 3 columns, one of which is a gridsplitter).

The performance of the XAML Map Control is very good until I load the Visiblox Chart.

Once data is loaded into the Visiblox Chart, the Map Control become extremely slow.

I don't understand why this would be as I've stripped back the XAML Map Control to simply show a default map with no binding or other connection to any views or view models.

I've tried the XAML Map Control with the ImageFileCache and no configured Cache but this doesn't make any difference.

Any ideas what could be going wrong here?

Sorry, I don't know Visiblox Charts. I am however quite confident that it hasn't got anything to do with map tile caching, so I wouldn't expect that ImageFileCache is of any help. You've got the sources of the Map Control, so you might try a performance profiler.
